is the roof not red right now? I get leaving it all red.
Since nobody here frequents the Focus forums (LOL, duh!) I’ll explain my choice to stay red.
- 80% of the guys doing conversions are going with the Imperial Blue (about 10 people in progress right now). I want mine to stand out, especially since I have hand-made 80% of the conversion parts myself.
- Imperial Blue is $800 a gallon just for color (not including reducer) because its not a color available here.
- I don’t want to go down to a bare shell just to paint jams and engine bay
- I’ll be the first red RS conversion
- I don’t feel like having the title changed
and theblue, the roof is in fact red now. there’s nothing wrong with the paint up there so I see no point using the material if it’s already red AND I plan to cover the area between the rain rails in carbon fiber vynil anyways.

Sooooooooo still not awd yet?
nope. not for quite a while. I’m thinking best case scenario I’d start that endeavor next winter. I’m going to build both my bikes and do the bodywork/paint on the Challenger over winter and then try to stay away from big projects for one whole season so I can just enjoy the summer next year…maybe travel a little bit. Next winter I’ll either start building the Caterham/Locost or I’ll start the AWD build. Which ever one I don’t do next winter I’ll do the following winter. By the time I’m 30 I SHOULD have all my dream projects out of my system this way hahahaha.
Lets be serious here…you not touch anything for a whole season? You will have better odds trying to steal chicken from a black man.

^ yeah, I nOObed out and fucked up. I forgot to scuff and prep-all the sealer on the bumpers, and the paint lifted right off. I swore, threw some things, punched a cabinet…and then took a deep breath. Oh, also, when I tried to spray the hatch in sealer, if fisheye’d. MF’er this car was pissing me off.
But hold on to your hats folks. Pirite offered to stick around (poor fool). What happened next is the type of stuff legends are made of. We decided that we weren’t losing this battle with paint today.

SO, BIG BIG thanks to Luke for sticking around, Chris for doing a phenomenal job saving my headlights, Checko and his buddy Derrick for starting to block the quarters and prepping various things tonight, and the dear lord baby jesus lyin’ in his manger for watching over us in our quest for decent amateur paintwork.
