Convince me...

i’m torn…i’ve heard lots of things about those undercoats you can do to prevent damage from salt, but i remain skeptical…not worth risking…if its clean and rust free, take the extra step to keep it clean and rust free…as much as i’d love drive it all year round (if i were in your shoes), i still would just suck it up…
i drove a fuckin conversion van all last winter and spared the zx (even if it was running i still woulda done the same thing…), and dont have a single regret…

My Z28 went through 8 winters with the previous owner. The underside has seen better days, definetly not bad for 8 winters, but not perfect. Wash your car a lot, and use spray wax as much as you can. Drive it as little as possible, keep it clean and it will be fine in the spring.

u drive a rwd sports car, ude be retarded to even attempt snow in that thing.

I think I should have made this a poll.

OK, after trying… I realised I’ve never made a poll before, and I don’t know if I can do it after the thread has been made.

Vote now

Jack, I’ll sell you a slightly used Focus for the winter.

I wouldn’t. Many, many times while driving over the winter in my beater have I said “Thank God I store the Z.” Like when I’m behind a plow truck, next to a plow truck, drving past a plow truck, driving down my unplowed road in 3’ of snow, when ice + shit shoots off someone elses car and onto mine, when a curb is hidden by seemingly innocent white powder, when it’s windy and icicles are blown onto my hood, when retarded people cut me off in slick conditions, when I’m covered in snow and slush and my floormats turn into an ice skating rink…

o stop it onyx…u said u were contemplating it too! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks…

I voted for Yes.

Onyx… you just made it more unpossible to decide.

DRIVE IT- Don’t be a puss. . .I plan on driving my car (if that means anything) I bought it to drive and beat on not sit in storage and rot

The main reason I say get a beater is simply because You can BEAT THE SHIT out of it in the winter and have SO MUCH MORE fun with it because it only cost You $300.

Would You be as willing to wrecklessly “drift” the VR4 as You would a S10, or P-brake Metro?

everyone should sell thier cars and buy subarus so they can have year-round, all condition fun, and not give a fuck what it looks like, because they look like poo from the factory.

haha.

I dont know about you, but I would never beat the shit out of a winter beater, I really dont like being broken down, stranded, or having to be wrenching on a car when im in 2 feet of snow and its 10 degrees out.

See below:

I havent had a beater in a couple of years. Last one was a POS '84 Cutlass. I beat that thing into the ground over the winter. One of the most fun winters yet. $250. Come June, I junked it.

Before that I had an old Cougar, that one cost me $150 & (2) 15" Fosgates. Before that, a POS Calais 4dr. That cost $50 CDN & dinner.

Not one of them broke on me in the winter. I dunno how You drive, but it’s worked for me time and again.

Other then those, I had my Grand Cherokee, and now the Trailblazer. I still “played in the snow” with both of those as well. The TB just got new tires too :naughty:

I plan on playing in the snow in the VR4…

I would drive it in the winter, awd and aws right? It will be a beast in the snow,

Its not like it has 2 inches of ground clearance, your shit has maddd wheel gap.

Don’t be ghey about it, just drive it

i dont think so…with the weight ratio in the NA being just about 50/50, why not? and its not like the na motor makes that much torque anyway…

i voted not to drive it, because reading this entire thread i noticed a trend…

reasons to drive it:

1 - “dont be a puss”
2 - “just keep it clean and it SHOULD be fine”

reasons not to drive it:

many more than reasons to drive it (such as in onyx’s post), and the reasons not to drive it are more intelligent/reasonable/logical…reasons to drive it are basically saying “meh who cares…it’ll be fine…” and that wouldnt be good enough reason for me…

pssstt. . . .its just a CAR!!!

:word:

Its not like its a super rare/expensive car anyway, no offense jack
