Cool lake picture

I’ve been watching these over the past few weeks to see how long before the ice is fully out. Today’s image is really interesting because you can see who got the lake effect snow from our last snow storm.

neat

I think I can find where I live

^ Not enough resolution to see your flock of children running around the back yard…

small pic, i gotta go run to my neighbors for his 64k so i can check this out.

404: Buffalo not found!

^ East side of Buffalo not found, but no one cares about the east side of Buffalo.

i use to like lookin at shit like this in my GIS course in college, its really fun to play with aerial photography and satellite imagery, theres a lot of stuff in this world, you can easily get sucked in for hours just lookin at things around the world

That’s really cool. You can easily tell how shallow Lake Erie is compared to the rest of the lakes.

all the jet ski guys who ride lake erie always watch this…season starts pretty soon for us. And BOOMSDay is coming soon

i like being able to see the water’s flow pattern. I’ve been at the NYPA dam a lot over the past several weeks and the ammount of ice going by the last coulple days has significantly increased.

They’ve pulled at least one section of the boom, and disconnected another section, but as of yesterday morning the rest of it was still in place for some reason. Looking here:
http://www.iceboom.nypa.gov/
It looks like they’ve left a lot of the boom still in place.

the crane broke… a 2nd time while trying to get them pulled… then the boat broke.

^ Thanks for the update. Any word on when they’ll be back in boom pulling business?

hopefully soon, im dying to get back out on the water. We also need a few more warmer days
