The “winning” bid was $0.01 US. Yeah, a penny.
Would have been pretty cool addition to Buffalo’s mini naval park, even if it would have taken up pretty much the entire harbor.

The training video:
I’m sure someone would have built a rock climbing wall on it or a boutique store.
I love that the article is about the ship and not how it sold for a fucking penny. I would have grabbed it for .02
Ship it to India and prolly get 10 million in scrap
I guess no one gave a ship!
What does shipping run?
Air shipping would’ve been outrageous!
I wonder why the govt. doesn’t just contract someone to dismantle it and keep the scrap value for themselves.
I know that it is a high cost dismantle due to Asbestos and obviously size, but there would still have to be some value in the 7 figures that would come back from the scrap.
Kyle … stop thinking logically … the us government isnt a business … its a fucking debt machine … you know how many overpriced shitty GM cars could be made from the scrap of that ship
Stupid me…why wouldnt the govt want to make $ without taxing people by being practical in their own usage of funds.
Float it out to international waters…monkey knife fights for all!
for $.02 + the cost of fuel we could have gone pirate hunting in Somalia!!
Just take over some smaller countries with this beast!
