What is svchost.exe, and why do I have 6 of them running at the same time on my computer?
And should my “System Idle Process” be reading 99 in the CPU usage section of my Windows Task Manager?

The funny thing is, we just re-installed XP and shit, so I can’t see how its something virus related. But I really dont know wtf svchost is and why there are 6 of them running.

run windows update to avoid any svchost vulnerabilities…
otherwise it’s a process that runs to launch programs from dlls… it’s normal.
Is that “system idle process” normal too? For it to read 99 damn near all the time?

svc is almost liek winsock if your familiar with that!? Its a program xp uses to talk with outside sources. Im not a windows user but Im sure if you try to run a command promp and just execute svchost it will tell you something? I think its like svchost -s ? I dont remember sorry heh

yeah i have that on my comp too… there is a few of them running and i dont like that but i cant do anything about it
you wanna close taskmgr.exe if thats running on yours.
