Craftsman Flux Welder

BEST OFFER!

can it be converted to gas?

doubtful, otherwise it would of been.

you sure it cant be? If it can there is usually a little NPT bung on the back and inside there would be a little port you have to add some hose to connect things up near the feed head. my old craftsman was flux and I just added a regulator I had laying around to it to convert it to gas. Might not have a silicone to control the gas on and off, but a simple knife style ball valve would be the manual way to do it to get by on the cheap. might be a pain doing tacks but long welds it would be ok.

even if it doesnt just swap the lead and gun with a gas shielded one and rig it up.

Thats true never really had to open it up for anything.

I picked up a Lincoln 140HD that replaced this one.

Any mig can be converted from FC to IG with the proper gun/lead and gas solenoid assembly. Just may have to drill a couple holes and open the case to get some wiring in. You can run the power for the solenoid off the drive spool motor power from the trigger.

Picking this up today! I’ve been using my dad’s lincoln electric but I want to really start getting into welding. Now I just need to close on this damn house so I have a garage to put it in…
