Creating a DVD/Movie - Need help

So I recorded a friends wedding, edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and exported it to a mp4 file. The file is 2.7GB at 720p. I then opened up “Corel DVD Movie Factory 7” to create a menu screen etc but when I bring in the movie file (2.7GB) its telling me that the file is 4.9GB and too big for a DVD. I even erased the menu with song and its still at 4.9GB
Any ideas?

Also, what do you / have you guys used to make DVDs with menus etc

Thanks

I’ve used Adobe Encore to make DVDs.

That said, you’re trying to put HD onto a DVD and while it’s not impossible, you can’t fit much (time wise) at all.

How long is the video you’re trying to put on it? Corel is likely un-compressing the MP4 into an AVI in order to burn to DVD.

i have used CovertXtoDVD…you can do menus and chapters…I have burned a 720p MKV to a dvd…but it wasnt true 720p once it was actually burned but still looked damn good…Dual Layers are nice for this particular application too

Is your dvd drive compatible with dual layer dvds?

^Yep, just dual layer that bitch. Better quality.

Here for a dual layer comment.

The video is 1hr20min Full version (doesnt fit)
I also have a Highlight film thats 3min long and 250MB…which it doubles to 500MB (again doesnt fit)

Is there any way to make Corel not un-compress this? Or maybe I shouldnt use Corel

Unfortunately no its not. So dual layer is outta the question for now.

My friends dont have a HDTV (own a old boob tube)
So I guess I could drop the quality a little bit to get it to fit.

I will look into ConvertXtoDVD

ConvertX works well too.

Thanks PR, I will try this out
