Truth they are really tough and greasy
My cousin use to make goose sausage with them, kind of like a summer sausage, now that is a way to eat them! Tasty!

At least your backyard doesn’t back up to a pond. I have to run out there every day and scare them off and the yard is still full of goose crap
I’m not sure how much of the pond-front you own, but a common practice to get rid of geese is to stake out the pond shore. Then run thin wire, rope, cable, whatever, about 6"-8" off the ground.
If the geese do not have easy and comfortable access to scoot into the water for their own safety, they will tend to find a new place to reside.

One of our neighbors did just that, and it didn’t help. They will just go into another neighbor’s yard and walk through to ours. Another neighbor has a little fence thing that looks like it works a little better, but it goes all around his property. That might be a better option I guess.
