Datsun 240z project car

Tossing this up here since its a great project and cheap

Located in Rochester and would need to be picked up.

I no longer have the time to work on my Datsun and I need it gone as I’m out of space to store cars (And have several that need to be in my garage to be worked on and or parted out). I’m selling my '71 project car I acquired in November of 2007. It was originally a California car and brought to Buffalo in 2001 where it was stored behind a house until I purchased it in 2007. The previous owner had lunched the transmission and parked the car until I picked it up.

The car was then completely stripped down, new floors welded in (two small holes need to be patched), engine bay stripped, holes filled where brackets used to be, battery tray deleted, etc. The car comes with:

'71 Datsun 240z

-Great condition transmission 40k miles

Stripped Engine bay

He is asking only $2200

Seats alone are probably worth close to $1k

Who needs a motor when you can drive it like Fred Flintstone?

making that thing a project car with a decent power plant is asking for a death wish…

if the floor is rotting out, I wouldnt want to see how shitty the frame is.

sweet

Holy rusted metal batman! Seriously $2200???
I sold my 71 for $1800 and it had very MINOR rot… and it ran lol

You bastard! I woulda bought it in a heartbeat!

I love 240Z’s if i had the time/money for a big project such as one I would have started building one of these, someday I will…

My friend is in the process of completely restoring a 1970 Fairlady Z from japan…

Although right now its on hold as he is in japan for at least another year…

Thing is acctualy in quite good condition considering it was a DD for its whole life…

Rockers were the only serios rust, and the interior neeeds a minor overhaul which he already has everything, its just waiting to go back together when he gets back

Paging DJ

I would love this car if

-Had orig motor and not a 4cyl on 3000+lb car.
-Floor was actually in one piece.

he has brand new floor pans for it, pretty simple swap

beautiful car (in restored form), i hope someone local picks this up

he updated his prices and such:

whoops. guess not lol. i like the ones in the car better than what i posted.

close, but the ones you posted cost about 1.2k

Would be a nice car with an LS1 and t56 and some work. Definately needs to be painted a better color too.

My friend is interested in the seats for his Z, he’ll be contacting you

Im pretty sure it isnt Mikes car, he was posting it up from another forum.

Thats correct, just passing along the information.
