FS: Clean 1972 Datsun 240z 50 NEW PICS 7/29

NEW PRICE $2600 COME GET IT!!!

This Z has been my gold mine; Finding a nice clean 240z that hasn’t rotted out in the northeast. Spent it’s entire life in Forrestville, NY (near fredonia). Stored winters, only brought out in the sunshine. Previous owner started stripping it to repaint it and touch up more things, only to get colon cancer, so a good amount of work is done

All the common rot areas are clean. no rust. There is some surface rust coming up on the quarters by the lips but that’s nothing to quickly grind off. Car has been in storage 4 years, ran and drove fine prior to that.

This is indeed a project, but a great start. Everything is there. Even comes with a lot of new stuff (carpet, seals, etc).

UNCRACKED DASH! very rare
factory a/c (I was going to remove it but whatever, leave it in if you want). fiberglass headlight buckets. brand new 2.25" exhaust included

I wouldn’t be selling, I would spray it and drive it but my uncle gave me an offer on one of his cars that I can’t refuse (hence this and my bike for sale).

Does not include wheels pictured. I def have steelies, but I’ll try to find some 14" alloys to throw on there (we’ve got a ton of Z cars/parts).

It is dirty, hasn’t been washed in years. I just walked over, took a few pics, and now I’m posting it up. For reference, MPD paid like 1200 for one with rotted floors and a cracked up dash.

I could probably even find a pair of mint seats if you’d like. Like I said, ton of Z cars. If there’s anything not included, I’m sure I could find it. I have like 3 parts Z’s in my basement. 3x spares of everything. BTW the bumpers are in pretty decent shape, they are on the ground behind the car. Disregard all the crap around it, remember this is my storage spot lol.

edit: just checked. 90,373 original miles. 3/72 build date.

how much for the beetle

why couldn’t this have been posted right after I sold my civic? Woulda bought it in a hearbeat.

none of the other cars in the garage are mine.

sorry tom, my bad buddy

How awesome would it be to buy this and make it look like that concept drawing…

is that a d-series bottom end next to it?

arrrrrrrrrrrrrGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

You are SERIOUSLY tempting me here. Damn.

yes, I picked up a 99 civic ex, prev owner didn’t change the oil for like 80k miles. pieces of rod all through the oil pan and block. Just haven’t gotten it to the scrapper yet. Also laying there is a complete 2.7 bottom end from a bmw 325e. I’ve had it up for sale for a while, no bites. It will also go to the scrapper.

is the block in decent shape?

wanna sell it? lol

as long as you don’t mind a few holes, sure

Early Z’s are the best, before they got hit with the US bumper regs. GLWS!

glws dre

Step 1: Bust out tools
Step 2: Remove bumpers
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

GLWS, hard to find rust free Zs anywhere, especially the north east.

i love these cars. if i didn’t own a house and have a car payment i’d def. come pick it up.

Great platform to start on!

Try HybridZ.org and ZCar.com, there are a lot of people on the east coast looking for a project just like this.

Also sent you a PM about the wheels for my 280Z.

Dont have any 280 parts cars sitting around by chance do you?

ugh I wish I had time for a project like this

I’d buy it but I wouldn’t pay anywhere near what you are asking.

good luck finding a z car in the northeast without rot for less. Not to mention an uncracked dash is worth $700 alone. I could part out the car and make way more money, but I don’t want to see a solid z car go to waste, they are pretty fucking rare to find un-rotted.

as I said before, mpd paid 1200 for one with rotted floors and a cracked up dash, not to mention a boatload of other shortcomings that he’s been dealing with. hell, take that 1200. buy a dash, $1900. buy floors, $2200… see where I’m going with this?

don’t shit on other people’s threads if you don’t know anything yourself

But you could get a solid one shipped up here for less than that.

if you do not know anything about the vintage Z car market, then gtfo

shipping a car would cost over $1k from most places with the gas prices the way they are.
