datsun rims????

hi, i’m looking to buy these, but the guy doesn’t know much about them, i was wondering if u could tell me what year and what car they are from, i’m pretty sure it’s a datsun 280z, not sure of the year anyone know? also there is a tire size on them, but i don’t know it, i’ve working in a tire shop and never seen a size of tire displayed like that, it’s always been 205/65/15 like that. can you tell me what size of tires i would need for these rims and does that 13 mean the rim is only 13inch? i’m not going from a 15 to a 13!!

i figured it would be a way to make my 240 look different from anyone else’s with a vintage set of datsun rims! i’m sure i’m not the only one, but i’m tired of stock rims, and want something for summer tires, everyone has rims on there 240’s but i have never seen one with these. make mine stand out a little more. polish the shit outa them they will shine again!! 75$ for the rims and tires isn’t bad!!(tires are kinda shot, but it will give me an idea of what it will look like, and where to set my coil over springs)

for 75 bucks, I would just buy them and w/o thinking… btw, were those bolt holes widened?

i don’t think so, the guy said his uncle had the car and crashed it, he took the rims off for some reason and they have been sittin in his shed for 10 years or so… i told him to bring me a front and a rear so i could put them on to see how it will look and fit. it’ll be better then the shitty stock tear drop rims!

yea those holes look elongated. If you work in a tire shop you should be able to tell the difference between a 13inch rim and a 15 just by looking. if theyre 15s i would grab them asap! theyd look pretty sick on a 240

btw those tires look like old school bias ply tires.

if i was standing infront of the tire, sure no problem i’d tell u if it was a 13 or a 15, but in those pictures it’s hard to tell. u don’t seem to know the size. i had a set or rims on my old camaro, the bolt holes looked like that, so it would fit a bunchof different cars, thats what the guy that sold it to me was tellin me. didn’t matter b/c i ripped them off and put 5 stars on. then gas went up and i sold it!! if they are 15’s i’m grabbing them for sure, even 14’s id take but not 13 thats just to small!

true i thaught youd actually seen them in person.

no not yet, one of these days he is going to bring them to me so i can try them on before i buy them, they need new tires b/c the ones of there are worn to shit i guess. so i wanted to price out some tires for the rims, but i have no idea what size that is in todays terms…

Think of it this way: There is 4.5" across the bolt holes for the studs, so just eye ball that distance across the whole wheel. I would say that they are 15".

You could always just ask the guy who is selling them to take a quick measurement of the rim.

i bet they are a 14, or 13… and thoes holes def look elongated. but hell, if the tires are 13 your quarter mile time will be better and you can slam your car to the ground even better.

look like 13s to me. if you decide to pass on the rims, i may be interested for my corolla.
let me know.

peace

Haha, my buddy has those exact wheels rotting away in his back yard from when he bought an old datsun and though he would fix it up. The wheels are all that is left from the failed project.

reading the tire would be able to tell you if it’s 13,14,15… but oldschool meshies like that didn’t come in anything larger than 16", but that certainly looks more like 13 or 14

either way they will be a nice touch to my car, something that is not those stupid tear drop rims i hate them, the guy selling them to me is a buddy, but it’s his uncle’s rims. he doesn’t know to much about cars and shit like that so i told him to messure the rim to see how big it is. either way i probably will take them. tot he guy who wanted to buy them, i don’t think he will ship to ont, i’m in manitoba, i know it probably through’s ppl off, but this site is the shit!

If they’re old and off a Datsun, they’d be 13’s maybe 14s.

15s didn’t happen until the 80s.

The look to me like old 510 wheels, which would be 13s.

they are 13’s, and the tire size is 205/50/13, they don’t think they make that size anymore, if they do it will be hard to find!

sell them to some suzuki people they use 4x4.5" with a small center bore

i found some tires at CT through the web site, but when i get the rims, i’m gonna buy them anyways, i’m gonna take them down there and get them to put a few different sizes on the rims and i’m gonna choose which ones i want. pretty cheap 55-75$, so i can do more drifting and it wont hurt my pocket as much as 90-120 a tire i pay now!!! smaller tire faster accel, lower to the ground(with help from adj springs), cheaper tires! i’ll post pics when i get them put on.

I have rims just like that but their 5 bolt and 14’s. there are little pieces that fit in the long bolt holes that you flip around to make different bolt patterns.

those are pretty sweet! once i get the rims and put tires on them, i’ll post up some pics with tire sizes, hopefully i can get something that will look good and not like a firefly tire!
