Trivia
-Underrated Factory HP/TQ
-Production number 000004
-Yes, it has a turbo from the factory.
-Yes, the back seat really does weigh that much.
I’d like to keep driving it, and autocrossing. When funds are more plentiful, I’d like to try a rallycross. The ‘Cruck’ is reasonably quick, though overweight(working on that), and very fun to drive. Even with the hood and bird-devouring scoop, the car doesn’t attract much scrutiny from law enforcement. More pics coming soon, thanks for stopping by.
These things are for the lesbian that wants a Subaru wagon and a truck I suppose. ;D
I can honestly say Ive never seen a modded one. Paint the hood the main body color and it would be a perfect sleeper. I dont think anybody would even notice the different hood or scoop on it if they were body colored.
You’d be suprised at how well of a rallycorss this type of vehicle can be. Like wagons, the added weigh over the rear of the car helps the rotation under heavy left foot braking. Just ask JVG and Jon t how well my old Rallycross escort wagon rocked around my old course
Glenn, Yep, that was me helping the local SCCA chapter with the GTO autocross. :banana
Only some of the bajas came turbocharged. Easiest way to tell: Scooped hood, raised suspension, gunmetal wheels, and red around the Baja badge on the back. Of course, none of those stock parts are currently on my car. :cool
The suggestions to paint the hood red and paint the body cladding red: Great minds think alike? :ponder Hood’s getting paint this winter, along with the scoop. I will probably be doing the body panels in 3 stages next summer (to keep the car drivable). I would love to go all-out and spray the whole thing in flat olive green, but I i’m still making payments on the car.
The back seat isn’t like the impreza’s, ‘just some foam’. It has a full frame and thick plastic and metal backing so it can be folded down for cargo or some such thing.
Thanks for your comments and ideas. Anyone know a good exhaust fabricator? There’s nothing reasonably priced for this car, so I’ll have to get one made. :
The best thing about these 'Outback-amino’s is…I can throw one or two parts on it, and it’s totally unique, the world over.
Oh wow, I saw you the other day by my house. You were pulling out of the advance auto in vliet. I noticed the hood scoop and STi seats while I was driving by. Cool car. I’m playing with the idea of getting a Forester XT, among others…
