I had a dealer tell me that if I used sunoce 94 I would get better gas mileage than any other type or brand of gas. I told them that they were full of shit.
my best friend in high school’s family owns R&W oil in mckeesport and he told me that sonoco,bp,citgo are the better gas stations because they have higher standards.
but places like sheetz worry about price and price alone. they look for the cheapest gas that they can find on that day and thats what they are getting sent to them. R&W oil can deliver to citgo, bp and sheetz. but sheetz only orders from them when they are in a pinch and have to pay a lil more. he said that there is a giant difference in gas between the big companies and sheetz. i have only gotten gas at sheetz maybe 4 times in my lifetime but thats because my old car and current truck need 93 octane and sheetz only has 92 octane.
I wouldn’t believe that BS either… :nono:
I was told that Sheetz gas has an additive that can cause your engine to burn off more carbon that may cause problems with the EGR valve (because I was having problems w/ my EGR). Truth? :dunno: but I don’t get gas from Sheetz… I used to get it from Gulf (before it turned to 76) and I had problems there too.
higher octane= a more pure burn = less gas for equal power = best gas milage…
on a minimal scale, but it’s true.
that’s why if you ‘performance tune’ your car to say 93 octane, and keep your foot outta it, you’ll have a more aggresive tune, but also get better gas milage…
so yeah, it’s true
very true, i get 3-5mpg more with 93 than with 87 in the truck
prices are goin down it looks like
Ummm im sick of looking at this STICKY
woo hoo 1 89 a gallon for 93 today
