Decent Shops

I need to get my oil changed and possibly brake pads. I am just wondering if you guys know any good shops out here. I would attempt to do them myself, but I don’t really have the place or tools required.

that stuff is really easy to do with very basic tools… shops are going to charge you atleast 2-3 hours of labor…

i did motocross’s bike and it took me about 20-30 minutes to do the pads, and oil changes take about the same… if you did them concurrently it would take 40 minutes max.

^word and that was when it was still cold as balls out in the garage lol

Sara if you have allen wrenches you can basically strip a sportbike down to the frame in less than an hour lol, shoot me or Tim a PM and we can set up a day to work on the bike

What pads are you going with? I recommend the EBC HH pads, they’re 47.99 a side I believe but they are VERY nice.

For oil I’d recommend Repsol but I know a lot of people like Motul too, repsol has an addictive to prevent clutch slip which I like.

bring it over to my apartment we can do it. i have the space and tools if you want to save the money…

O really? Thanks guys. I’ve been doing some research for a few days, but I still have no idea what I’m doing. I’m not sure about the pads, but the brakes have been squeaking when coming to complete stops. Pick a day. I’m working tomorrow and Wednesday, then I’m off for a few weeks.

As always, if you need any help, let me know.

SSAL is a girl?!??!?!?!

nudez?

anyway… I’ve run rotella in every bike ive owned… the only bike i ran motul in had clutch problems… go figure.

anyway, EBC HH makes a pad with a ton of bite but if you’re planning on changing pads based solely on the sound, i recommend you check them out and make sure the pad is low… if it is change it immediately… rotors cost a LOT more than pads.

ALL MOTORCYCLE SPECIFIC OIL SHOULD HAVE THAT ADDITIVE…

which brings me to wonder what the hell is an addictive.

 do it yourself

Hey Sarah,

I can help you do it. I have all the tools, and a garage to work in. I just changed mine and my friends oil. Brake pads are easy too.

I change my own oil, but everything else I take to Hebeler’s. Always happy with their work.

The Heblers are awesome people

What’s the matter with this option?

Not everyone can DIY. And even if someone could fudge their way through it (most probably could) they may pay for the job to be sure it’s done properly and in a time efficient manner. I can do alot of things, but some stuff I’d rather pay and have no complications. Nobody can be a master of all trades.

I fix computers…what if everyone could fix their own properly. Now how many TRY to fix their shit (or have a buddy “help”) and end up calling me to undo their botch jobs? HRMMM…I think more than first time repairs even.
On a bike or car that’s not really a good scenario. At least on a computer they just can’t surf for porn for a week. On a vehicle if you can’t stop your…kinda dead.

My brakes have been squeaking when coming to complete stop on my 2009 since I put 500 miles on the bike, I thought it was normal?
