I’m sorry Darkstar, but performance wise, the new M5 will not outperform the C6 Z06.
GM has made it very clear, that the Z06 will be going on a diet, with various carbon fiber body panels, and they said it will have a curb weight of 2850-2950lbs (definite goal of under 3000lbs). It will handle relatively close to the Ford GT numbers (1.03g). As well as have 15.3" Rotors up front, and 14.4" Rotors in the rear.
It will out handle, outbrake, out accelerate the BMW M5. But that is expected when comparing it to a sports luxury sedan. The new M5s pricetag is also north of $95,000. Expected to be increased to approximately $112,000 MSRP. Which is $18,000 more than the 2004 model.
the 2006 Z06, will sport a 7.0L (427ci) LS7, 3 Valve Engine, with Variable Valve Timing. 500hp and 500tq. In a 2900lb body… sorry but the performance will stay with the Vette on this one.
M5 > Z06

I dont know where youre getting your numbers from, but both pale in comparison performance wise

I think the C6 Z06 will be > than almost everything south of $250,000
