2006 Z06 runs 12.03 @ 123.9

Magazine driver, pilots 2006 Z06 to 12.03 @ 123.9. Track conditions were reported as poor, at Beach Bend Raceway.

With that trap speed low 11’s should be easy. High 10’s are in sight

Apparently track conditions were subpar also:

Posted on the corvetteforum concerning track conditions:

"123.9 was his best run when we were there. I agree that everyone always wants to pull the “bad conditions” excuse but Sat it was really tough out there. I go to the strip at least a couple of times a year for the last 8 to 10 years and I have never felt a track as slick as this one was. The headwind was very stiff. I have a bone stock 04Z and I could not go full throttle in 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd on most of my runs. I was 2 to 3 MPH down from my normal trap speeds. I ran right behind him on 5 straight passes and my friend who was videoing said that his car seemed twice as loud as mine under WOT. I thought it looked awesome and sounded very good. "

-Car had 44 miles on the clock

That thing is a monster…

cant wait till they hit the streets, Ferrari what?

that sick…with better conditions and a badass driver. There’s a guy on corvetteforum.com that ran an 11.6 in a bone stock (down to the filter) in a c5 z06. He could easily get that thing into 10’s.

btw, theyre for sale now. $66,449 for a base model. Fully loaded, with big brake package, and navigation is $73,239

the 7.0L LS7 is not a cheap engine to produce it seems. It utilizes the same exact block, as the C6R

sweet!

sweet. that thing is crazy.(by the way, i thought corvetteforum was a terrible place to get any vette info…all ‘old bags’, right?? )

motortrend driver, it also wasnt a closed session testing, it was done with a production car during a public tnt

its cool. i just thought it is funny that everytime i ever posted anything that had to do w/ corvetteforum u had some sort of smartass comment. but then u reference it. but whatever, not tryin to start an arguement to ruin the thread, just thought i’d point it out.

no prob, I just dont like the corvetteforums, because it is mainly old bloated windbags, who feel their 20 year old vette, can take down any car made. Can’t argue with fact though or an event that took place in a public setting, which is what I referenced.

who me?

OH nvm…i didn’t read the rest of the thread.

no, just me and Blue havin a friendly debate from before. but ya, Blue i agree w/ u to an extent. there r alot of guys on there that think the vette is the final frontier of sportscar performance. and though i wish it were true, i know its not, haha.

 at “subpar” track conditions. What do they want a fucking entire quarter mile made of rubber and glue?

they said traction wasnt so hot… but honestly, I don’t think traction could be so good, running on 19" tires, with 500hp/500tq

They are not for sale yet…wont be at least until October.
I have been told by 4 dealers and Dave Hill the price is not set.
Most agree it will be just under $70k with options will put it around $73k

not in our region, I stand corrected, but you will beging seeing them at dealers by June, in the mid west. According to the test driver of that particular Z06, he spilled the beans on their cost. So, he was pretty close with your opinion of a loaded up one costing 73k

MMMmmm…I want one.

They are really badass machines, but I’m not paying $70K for a Corvette.

getting one?? :x:

for that much money, i’d rather have a viper
