I would hope so. In my non-Asian opinion, this is, by far, the best looking Impreza made.
I have been following someone’s 22B replica build on his US GC on another forum for a while. The 22B is definitely one of my top cars. I have always loved the GC chassis, but being there working on this one and getting the ‘feeling’ of what the heritage behind this particular Japanese car was like(especially with this one’s suspension mods) was just another feeling of arm-crossing, stare at it goodness. Definitely a unique experience considering what other vehicles could have and should have given that feeling…
Reasonable thought process. However…there’s a caveat.
This is something I’ve heard from more than one person, and I truly take to heart now. “Never meet your heroes.” In my case, it was most Italian Exotica…short of the F40. Let me tell you, that one car is everyone’s wet dream and more. However, the Countach, the RS200 Evo, the 959, the Diablo, and so on…there is just so much lore…so much hype, that eventually driving one leaves you somewhat…cold? The muscle cars are similar. I had a very well-done 67 GTO (Pontiac) in my shop not too long ago. Drove it. Very nice car. Very original. Very well preserved. And holy crap, what a massive pain in the ass to drive. Good occasional cruiser, and that’s about it.
We live in the true Golden Age of internal combustion-engined cars. Enjoy it while it lasts, and don’t look back. Right this second, the cars made within the last 5 years, stock to stock, are the best cars ever made.
I definitely agree with that. Being exposed to certain vehicles for so long, the same ones that make people pull out their camera phones and become frazzled with excitement, you definitely become plain de-sensitized. Definitely performance goodness, definitely some few-in-a-lifetime experiences being in and around them but at least in my case I instantly fixate on flaws, finish issues and anything that really you don’t expect to see. They are carried in such a high regard, that its a tall step once you see them in person(or in your case, drive them).
I suppose now thinking about it, I suspect it was more of the owner’s pride and creativity that gave me the feeling with this car especially considering what selling the car meant for him and his wife. Imagination for a second, I guess.
Very true. Driving my Mustang and the Evolution back-to-back is a lesson in opposites. Both were cars I yearned for - heroes of mine, but only one could I comfortably drive every day. The Evo is quicker, faster, stops harder, corners sharper, it’s even quieter (Evo drivers… in our boomy cars, take note there, heh 
)
That said, there is nothing like driving a vintage car and everyone should try it, if for nothing more than to appreciate modern machinery that much more. I’d love to try an antique car… just to see what it’s like.
I’d sell my Evolution before I ever parted with the fastback.

You were asked to become a vendor back when Howie was in charge, told him “no” but still kept pushing your detailing. Then you started PMing members about details… you even PM’d walter about detailing his M3 when he lives 800 miles away in Atlanta! :ham:
So why would it be any surprise that you’d be banned? You’re a nice guy man but when others are paying for the privilege of advertising their services here you can’t expect to get away with that.
getcha had permission to make this post. He’s not pushing his services through multiple posts or PMs and understands that we have a paying detail vendor and not to step on his toes.
I’m not aware of psphinx getting infractions for posting about detailing, but it’s possible. And he certainly hasn’t been banned.

- Howie asked you to either pay to be a vendor or quit posting ads / sending unsolicited PMs to members
- You ignored him
- You got banned
- You signed up with another user name and started to do it again
- You got banned
- You used you girlfriend’s user name to do it AGAIN
- Her user name got banned
- Repeat steps 4 & 5 for several more user names until we let you keep “captain morgan”
I don’t know the exact conversation you had with him but Howie probably would have bartered you a single beer to let you advertise here years ago. If you want to make money through a website and ignore the requests of the website’s owner because you don’t feel you owe the site anything, expect to be banned.
Josh that’s just it i never posted adds… i posted pics of previous work just like this fellow. I never included prices, rates, etc. He’s not getting banned right? I did pm Walter when he posted up pictures of his new car saying it was in need of a detail. That was it, never pm’ed anybody else. I’m not trying to argue with you, its just that some people get away with it and some dont. I AM NOT THROWING ANYONE UNDER BUS THE HERE, just using a few examples like choda/jack are not sponsors but are able to post they run a towing service, choko not a sponsor can post about paint jobs/body work, John WAS not a sponsor but everybody knows he tunes like a mad magician and had built some gorgeous exhausts for members on here. Oh well i will never win this battle, I tried. I even tried pm’ing you multiple times under spinall4 so i could advertise but never once got a response. I even had others members pm you for me, but they never received responses either.
Cal, I’m not going to dig up all the old threads / PMs / usernames you had. The decision was made a long time ago and not by me.
If you can’t see the difference between getcha asking for permission to make this thread or the difference between passive promotion verses active advertisement (unsolicited PMs, etc) then I can’t help ya.
