Diagnosing

Hey,

So I just recently got an S13 (KA24E) and it ran well for a bit, but now it is starting to have major engine issues. It will not stay alive when I start up the engine, and stutters a lot when I am driving. Sometimes it will even die on me while I am driving (ie. slowing down to a halt at a traffic light) forcing me to restart. I’ve gotten suggestions such as MAFS, ECU, battery, alternator, fuel pump…but I really do not know where to do. I need someone to help me figure what is wrong via test driving my car around the block. Since this is my daily driver, I really need to find a way to revive this car by Monday and I am really stressed out about this. Is someone willing to come over and help take a look at my car today or tomorrow in the afternoon (2pm and onwards) I would greatly appreciate it.

i had this problem… it was a combination of my maf, tps, iacv and cas… every one of them was not right

what did you do? clean them? purchased a new one?

I need this fixed by Monday so I can go to work.

Grab you FSM, and a multimeter start testing stuff… thats always a great start.

I don’t know why I even has to say this over and over again.

Check the basics;

Battery, battery cables, alternator, (charging system)
ALL grounds you can find. Clean em up.
Check ALL tune up parts.
Compression test never hurts since the plugs will be out anyways.
Oil level and integrity
SES light on? (Service Engine Soon) or CEL (Check Engine Light)
MAF…is it full of shit?
