Ok, so I’m at the Moon Township Honda dealer yesterday, and there’s a pretty nice 97 Acura Integra sitting on the lot. I thought it was an LS at first site. It has LS mesh wheels, Tan cloth interior, etc… Hell, even the salesman said it’s an LS (but what do they know). Now, there’s no badging on this car anywhere to distinguish it as a GS-R, LS, RS, GS, or what ever model of Integra it might be, but there is a “DOHC VTEC” badge on the rear, and the car does have a B18C1 under the hood with numbers that match the VIN.
What the hell is this car? An un-badged GS-R that looks like an LS? Or an LS that happened to have a B18C1 placed in it. Or what?
Obviously, I don’t know Integras all that well, and this has me confused, lol.
My first thoughts were that the car’s a 5 speed LS, and the previous owner did an LS/VTEC head swap, but that’s not the case, being as the engine is clearly marked as a B18C1, and the VIN on the engine and tranny match the VIN on the car.
I’m guesing it’s an unbadged GS-R, that I might be able to get at an LS price since that’s what the dealership thinks it is.
yup. kolar had a gsr that came with the LS wheels too. at first we all thought that the person before him that had it sold the gsr wheels and put on the LS wheels.
Check the tach. The gs-r will have an 8000 redline, and say premium unleaded only. The LS gauge cluster would say unleaded fuel only and have a 7 grand redline. Also, the fuel door on the gsr will say premium unleaded only
