What exactly is the difference between the M5R2 and the T5 manual transmissions? I am planning on doing a swap on my car from the AOD automatic tranny to an M5R2. I have to get a new driveshaft for specific reasons I don’t know of. But I’m told that you don’t need a new driveshaft when changing from AOD to T5. Can I put a T5 in my supercoupe??? Or is it for 5.0’s only?? I know the supercoupe stock M5R2 is pretty much a truck transmission…blazer, f150 etc. Also, is there anyone that can do this swap for me cheap? I am in no way capable of something of this magnitude.

If your really on a tight budget get a T-5.
if not buy a used TKO and numerous others.
the other beefed up T-5 is also crap.
I’m a very aggressive driver, the stock tranny can’t handle crap.
also 1st gear 2nd ratios are different from early t-5 to 90’s t-5
it shouldn’t be hard to convert over, if have the parts lined up
