dirty rims.

ummm ya well winter is coming and im about to put on my winter rims (some stealies :slight_smile: ) but during this time i want to clean and paint my rims black (my stock 7 spokes) can anyone help me with this?

first off dump the metallic pads and the soft rotors… wow…

unmount obviously
wash with warm water and CLR
wipe down liberally with silicone remover/ pre paint automotive degreaser

I have my way of prepping and painting however I’m sure there are some body shop people here that may have a more tried and tested method.

use castrol super clean, and scrub…does a really good job

just dont inhale

I have no personal experience, you should do a little research before doing anything.

Since you’re repainting, you should be stripping everything bare anyways. I have seen good DIY repaints utilizing aircraft-grade stripper(I’m drawing a blank as to the proper term), and the stuff basically strips the finish (paint, and the ‘polished’ look of rims), and you’re left with a bare surface.

I have no experience, so you should really google up the process!
