Discosteak's 93 civic CX True street/SFWD car

I cant really show everything about the car as I dont have all my pictures while I’m in Afghanistan. but i have a decent amount of them of how the car is now and parts Ive bought while I was here. I bought the car from a friend with all the engine work already done. This is my 18th Honda since 2001. So before i hear a built not bought comment, just know that Ive bult plenty of these things some were fast some were slow, some were turbo, some all motor, the first one even had nitrous. I had 2 nissan 240sx’s racecars somewhere in there too.
The setup is in my sig If you have any questions ASK!
here are some pictures

This is the first time Ive owned a car that someone else actually did anything to it took me almost 6 months to find a clean chassis with no rust. and after being lied to by sellers about a car 2 hours away for months i got tired of it. I got a phone call from an old friend who said his hatch was for sale. At the time i was actually looking for an integra, but i couldn’t pass this thing up it has literally had no expense spared in the build. Plus the day I bought it the motor literally had an hour of dyno time and 1 full track pass at 10 psi. It still has very little time/mileage on the motor due to the c16 only tune.

Future plans will be a pump gas tune, and a retune on Q16. Once i get back the boost is going up to 35 psi. With q16 that should be good for just under 800 with this turbo

nice setup, stock gears/trans if so you might want to keep some spares around

stock gears, carbon syncros, quaife lsd, cc twin disc and a tilton flow control valve. the trans should hold for a good while under 700. its also using a boost by gear setup so it doesnt even make full power til 3rd gear.

 wiring

Looks awesome

Thanks guys i cant wait to come home and remove the abortion of a front bumper and headlights and get this thing looking like it belongs in this century again.

Any times?

10.8 @129 on 14psi.

Are you in WNY?

Ft Drum area, but right now Im in Afghanistan and the car is back in MD

Holy huge turbo batman lol

haha its only a 67mm, it looks bigger than it is in the pictures because it has the H housing on the compressor side, 4 inch inlet 3 inch outlet, hotside is .81 AR t4

Cf duckbill and some other goodies showed up, only a few months until i can work on it/drive it. I cant wait

awesome car

thanks man

So the fun begins. I got home and drove the car a few times. I started it to put it on the trailer to bring it home and it shut off in the driveway. It snapped the exhaust cam in two places. I pulled the head off and found 2 bent exhaust valves. and further inspection revealed that the lift of the cams was too high for the factory GSR lost motion assemblies. The valve springs and retainers were beginning to show signs of wear on both the intake and exhaust sides also.

I’m upgrading the exhaust valves to Supertech Inconel, Upgrading the cams to Brian Crower stage 2 NA cams which have a little less lift than the cams that were in it and a little bit better street manners. I’m also going to Supertech 85lb seat pressure valve springs and supertech Ti retainers.

I did manage to get a few other things done on the car while It was sitting in the garage. I’ll let the pictures do the talking

Removed the mid wing and added the duckbill

Removed the factory cluster and got the 5" tach off the dash and into the factory cluster area also was able to hide the shift light.

Thats it for now Ill try to keep the thread updated as parts start rolling in But Im pretty bad about taking pictures while Im working. Thanks for looking

That’s impressive what you managed to do to that cam, lol.

I think its more impressive that it only managed to bend 2 of the valves

I’ve never seen or even heard of a cam being broken into separate pieces

pshhhhhhhh Ive had it happen before.
