Dodge Demon

840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque. 0-60 in 2.3S and 1/4 in 9.65 @ 140 mph

Wheelies

I want to own something that will wheelie

I like how they are using the a\c to cool the heat exchanger. AMG guys have been doing this 2008 (killer chiller system.) Awesome production car.

, Dodge says the car is “officially banned by the NHRA” for being too quick for a production car to run at a drag strip without a cage.

So you can’t drive it at the track?

You technically can’t run under 9.99 with out a roll cage is the point.

Understood. Just find it interesting they are selling a track car, you cant drive at the track.

But it’s not a track car its a STREET car that happens to run that ET. It’s the same situation all those people with modded GTRs run into they run in the high 9s and while they’re not track legal most tracks don’t care.

COPO
Cobra Jet
Track Pack

Are all track cars…with no VIN and can’t be street cars.

Who fucking cares?

"We wanted to build a car for the NHRA, not the PTA,

When you say that was you mission, but then you can’t actually use it at the track.

For those that do

Braking and handling wasn’t bad at all on the hellcat and this one weighs less so…

NHRA doesn’t sanction every track in the US…There are lots of tracks that would let you run this car no issue…

I wonder what effect these will have on the Hellcat market (probably none with the low production numbers).

I want a Hellcat.

I like that they’re bragging about it being NHRA certified as the world’s fastest production car with a 0-60 of 2.3 and 1/4 mile of 9.65 @ 140mph but it’s not actually allowed at an NHRA track because it doesn’t have a cage. How did the NHRA certify it then?

Maybe they went 9.99 9.99 and 9.6 and NHRA said no more? lol

“Here’s your cert, now get off our track and don’t come back without a cage!”

Pretty much, I don’t have cages in any of my cars. Oh well.

This thing on the street would be a riot, I’d love to have one.

From what I see you can get 808 on pump gas and they 840/time slips is on race gas.

Only 32hp gain on race gas…? Seems a bit conservative. Gotta be a lot more left on the table for sure.

I’ve heard it still runs 9s with pump gas and the slicks on the front.

They don’t up the boost, they really just get more aggressive on the timing. Its a twin screw, so unless you’re swapping to a smaller pulley how are you going to gain much power from a tune?
