idk about you guys, but I think its bullshit that different drivers are used for each car… no two drivers are alike…
I think that is the biggest variable, rather than the tires

True but you are comparing a factory prepped race car (aka no radio) and race rubber with the ZR1 which I am sure has a Bose audio system and street tires so the average vette owner gets at least 10,000 miles out of the tires

But all I am trying to say is that if I were to go buy both cars from a stealership, the dodge would be faster out of the box. Yes I could go buy tires for the vette, lose my back seat or some other excuse and perhaps outrun the Viper, but that isn’t what is being compared here.

I will be interested to see if GM makes r-comps an option next year so they can shave some time off their lap time.

Don’t forget, the Viper is running a splitter that’s not allowed on the street. Not too sure how much more downforce that produces. Guess they are afraid if they hit someone, they’ll cut their feet off. I hate when that happens.

+1 to different drivers = different results. Put both cars on race rubber, same driver, im willing to bet the vette will come out on top.

LOL, the car at the ring has a radio. You have to PURPOSELY order the ACR with the hardcore package- it normally comes with all of those items, and the car tested DID NOT have that delete list.

Well, you heard it here first. I would have posted this yesterday, but I was too drunk in the casino, lol.

Its official, you ZR1 and GTR leghumpers better hand over the crown, the Viper ACR just slayed the ZR1 on the ring… without factory support, and WITNESSED by Motor Trend… by FOUR POINT THREE SECONDS. Final Lap Time was 7:22.1, and sits on top of the hill except for the group of extreme power/race cars.

More to come later… off to the Chelsea Proving grounds.
