but prefer office work/clerical. F/T or P/T with F/T hours. I need to find something quick. It has to pay $10+/hr after taxes in order for me to be able to pay my bills. I have 2+ years of Customer Service and Retail experience. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I wish to find something Monday through Friday but and willing to work weekends if necessary, first or mid shift is ok. No nights or overnight please.
I know I may be asking for a lot but it’s just the IDEAL position to be in but I am flexible.
i have also applied to geico twice with nothing… i have a solid work record never getting fired but no call… my buddy who has gotten fired from both mcdonalds and bk and has a GED got a job there so idk who the hell works in there HR
I got fired from one job at a bank, but it was ruled by a judge as not a reason to get fired because I it was found that I did nothing wrong and I had never been in any trouble, never was late, never no called no showed or any of that stuff. I always minded my business and passed all tests and met all quality requirements. I have been on unemployment for far too long and I don’t think that I will get another extension. I have applied at so many places with no calls. I think me getting fired has got something to do with that, regardless of how it happened.
Ever try any of those companies that work with mentaly disabled people? They are always looking for people. Most pay pretty decent and have bennies, paid vacations/holidays etc.
I came off 10 years solid call center experience at Ingram Micro. When I was laid off I applied to Geico and never made it to an interview, they mailed me a letter saying they weren’t interested. They mailed me fairly promptly, but I was shocked at the declining to at least interview me. Over qualified I suppose, though my girl also recently applied there after being laid off and same thing…mailed a letter declining.
I too wonder what “qualifies” someone to work at a basic call center. Seems they leave alot of good workers un-interviewed. At least they mailed quickly on my 2 examples…I’d be pissed to not hear anything at all.
Short of sales with commission, I suspect $10 an hour after taxes will be hard without any specific definable skill. Good luck though…in life it’s often about who you know.
