1. Torque directly doesn’t win races. You are wrong about that.
2. Deciding what car wins based on a single HP value is ridiculous
3. #2 and then using a blanket statement by comparing it with domestic vs import is even more ridiculous

Want me to prove #1? I got my dyno sheet and I can make a sword out of it using paper towel cardboard and some duck tape. Perhaps my subtle sarcasm will be understood by someone on here.

wow…i leave for an hour and this thread goes from 4 pages, to 8…of absolute bullshit.

Their is no happy medium between the domestic and import world. You can argue about them for decades, and not get anywhere…it what people prefer and demand. If we all drove domestic’s, car enthusiasts would get bored…if we all drove imports, we would get bored. The most satisfying thing to say is the better built Car and driver is going to win the race…doesnt matter if they are out powered or not…I cant tell you how many times I have been surprised by how fast lower numbered cars can move out.

I like camaro’s…thats just that…But to say that Im a redneck or a Mullet head is rediculous just because of the car im in favor of. Their are many imports I like also like supra’s, RX-7’s, 300zx’s and vr-4’s. Hell, I even like the new altima’s and maxima’s…I just like the whole owning a good looking domestic theme.

I saw a episode where their was a high 10 second turbo CRX…they made the biggest deal out of it because he was the first import ever on the show to get as far as he possibly did…Torque wins races

Someone please explain to me how the better built car and driver decides who wins the race? For the life of me, I can’t imagine how John Force in a Geo Metro can beat me in any performance category nor can I imagine a Geo Metro built by the best tuners in the world with the best equipment in the world beating John Force in his Top Fuel.

Do you people proof read your posts before clicking the “Post” button? Seriously. Think about what you are trying to communicate before you actually do. This will avoid posts like: 2JZ and 1000 at best, 500whp domestic > 700whp import, and the amazing justification of pinks, etc…

I didn’t mean 1000whp was the max from a 2jz, i was just saying that seems to be the ‘number to shoot for’ in alot of cases…that’s like the proverbial unicorn number…if you get what im saying…

And in the viper world, from as far as I’ve read the big number they shoot for with turbo setups is 1500whp…

It comes from my girlfriend’s profession. Thank you for clearing it up but it’s not what you said. The problem is that people read this stuff and take it as face value. On another thread, you’ll have someone saying: OMG 2JZ maxes out at 1K which is not true. I hate generalizations when used in an absolute sense: All black people are ghetto, all imports are slow, etc…

I am guilty of this as well when I saw domestics are shitboxes but I am close to being right on that one so we can let it slide…
