Yes it was a shep trans i stated that earlier, i emailed him about it and he said that with that style of gearing that i opted with at that time (whatever stage that was it was more of a custom)would not hold that much power.

Well the setup now is going to be a trans guarenteed to run in the 9’s and a PTT twin disk. but it’s going to take me all winter to pay for that.

Not really, I’m not sure what kinda $ you guys pay for stuff but i’l be getting all that for 3500 out the door new.
Kurt, I have the heavy duty 3-4 conversion from shep. That is probably what you are missing by running the stock gears. Your car is too heavy to be running the style of gear you are. The new trans should have the upgraded parts and survive the abuse.

Here’s the problem with that, I didn’t break much off the actual 3rd gear, it sheared the intermediate shaft apart…which is NOT part of the 3-4 upgrade 
definatly a chunk of money no matter how you look at it! Its not tooo bad tho… costs big money to go fast. Does Tilton make a clutch for your car… there pretty much the end all to clutches, the clutch kit for the Supra is like $4,700, and the quad disk is like $5,400 :bowdown: So dont feel that bad!
Right now Quartermaster, Exedy, and PTT are making the best clutches out there aside from running a dogbox to take the stress off it. Exedy has the most friendly, PTT middle, and QM is loud, harsh, and not very streetable
just buy the dog box. get it over w/.
dogbox isn’t even close to my price range…its like 7k for just the gear sets not installed.
I just checked, Tilton makes a clutch but only for the EVO, not sure if its the same tranny or not.
