i understand where you’re comming from, but seeing the results of even factory tunes has me worried about buying another subaru ever. the overboosting condition im sure was contributed to by the intake, BUT what id be scared of is the MAF scaling when switching from the stock airbox to that intake… im sure that played a role in the motors (plural) demise. there are plenty of people locally who have a tactrix cable who can at least datalog it for you, check fbkc (feedback knock correction) and adjust air/fuel and timing parameters. my suggestion is to give justin mcgrath (celtic1982citlec) or jays05 (bigturbo on nads) a call and see what they can do to help you out. again, best of luck with the sale, and if the motor pops again, i have an ej257 for sale cheap. haha
