downsides to boring a motor out to max safe numbers

from whta i’m reading most dsmers have more luck with having the head oringed and not the block. as for the head gasket i’ll have to get some material taken out of it and most likely have the head setup for it also.

u beat me to it. over-boring will also lower compression a cunt hair, not raise it. bigger bore’s also mean longer burn times… im so used to real v8 motors, it probably doesn’t matter in a 4banga

You’re increasing the volume of the cylinder without changing combustion chamber volume, it raises compression.

boring is nickle and dime horsepower, why even bother. Just stroke it and crank up the boost, or spray a small shot of juice

stroking isn’t on my list of things to do

he has to bore it to clean up the inperfections in the block. stroking doesnt do that at all. thats why you can have a 327 and a 331. one is a 302 and other is a .030 over 306. in his situation its alittle DSM and really no need to stroke it

stroking would allow me to run a bigger turbo, more torque but sacraficing revving ability
