Anybody else a fan of this show? I heard about it a year ago when Adam Carolla was plugging it on Howard Stern. At the time, only one episode had aired, and he was dubious that it would be allowed to continue. Well, it did continue, and I picked up the season 1 DVD set a few weeks ago. Season 2 is on now.
The premise of the show? 8 cartoon characters in an environment designed to be like MTV’s “The Real World”. The characters are mostly recognizable as parodies of familiar ones:
Captain Hero = Superman
Xandir = Zelda
Wooldoor Foxbat = Spongebob Squarepants
Foxxy Love = Josie and the Pussycats
Toot Braustein = Betty Boop
Ling Ling = Pikachu (from Pokemon)
Spanky Ham = ? (He’s a mascot from a porn site)
Princess Clara = any princess from a Disney cartoon
Season 1 was pretty good, but the show has really hit its stride in season 2. My two favorite episodes air again tonight (11/25) on Comedy Central at 11:00PM and 11:30PM, so if you want an idea of what the show is like, watch it tonight. It’s probably the raunchiest cartoon I’ve ever seen on TV, even going beyond South Park at times.
It’s a good cartoon. I haven’t had many chances to watch it. It’s a grown up version of South Park. It’s more with the times and up to date. Definately a must watch for anyone on this board.
the show is hysterical, i love how xandir is on a never ending quest to save his g, yet refuses to admit hes gay … i loved watching him kill himself repeatedly in the one episode
I watched all of season 1 in one sitting. When I got done, my impression was, “its decent, but its no Family Guy”. The last couple of episodes in the season were particularly weak. But then I watched it again, and it grew on me. Season 2 has been far better.
