Driven to Perform

Good Luck to all the guys competing in the show today.
May the Force be with you. :E

The “Original” force, not that crap force they try to sell you in episodes I-III

Along with the geriatric lightsabre fighting that went along with Ep IV-VI?

(don’t get me wrong, I am a pure original trilogy fan. I just think looking back at what was then awe-inspiring sabre battles look almost laughable now)

Well they couldn’t exactly bring out some new form of fighting techniques or weapons!! It all connected with the original!!

Wow. Four posts and three are off topic. :o

So how was the show???

It was really good!

For me, a little too long however - not really a car show fan myself. But I did get to meet SilverStreak and his freakin’ awesome turbo Spec, amongst other cars.

The booth itself looked ok, it would have been nice to have a little more room to place the cars in a unique way, but that’s ok. The actual booth part with the tent/speakers/table looked awesome, and apparently the organizers were impressed with our setup, though Aaron can tell you more about that one.

One thing we did discover though, there will be no movies shown at our car shows any more - everyone was crowded around watching the movies instead of talking to people.

Anyway, by all accounts it was a good show, and DTP Edmonton should be all the better.

Oh, forgot to mention, Jamie/Flavio/Kent and I went into a local Calgary shop called SpeedTech.

Fuck man, I’ve never seen such a great looking shop - it was set up like an art gallery…if an art gallery had Volks on the wall. Wow…that’s all I can say. I don’t really think we have anything here that’s quite like it.

I really enjoyed the show and it was good to see and talk with everyone from the board … really good turnout

yes meeteing everyone from the boards and getting drunk and sober within 3 hours was awsome! hahaha stupid allen got 2 trophies!!! LUCKY…

Its not luck robb, allens car is amazing. lol

So who won best representation?

The Beyond car club. The J-body guys had the most cars, but a lot of them were more or less completely stock, so on a pure numbers basis we probably should have won.

How many cars did Beyond have? Did the shirts make it down there ok? If so how do they look??

the show went well. as everyone saw my car was no where near finished and now I am going to look into getting everything together so I can go into a show either later in the year or the v8less show next spring in calgary.

allen was the only character on stage when he got his trophy’s. later that night the cops were even interested about it while everyone was on there toes hoping they didn’t run plates.

Beyond had 8 cars, I believe.

The shirts did make it down and look great! They rode back with me, so I’ll take a pic of them tonight and post it up for all to see.

What I wanted to know was it necessary to have all the cars shown at the show modded??

Not if you walked through the J-body booth. Most places had cars that were significantly modded, though there were a few unusual stock vehicles there also.
