Oh man, well heres the story. I got a jdm s14 complete subframe off varun and i was in the process of installing it, i swapped the upper control arm so it would fit and i got it all lined up and bolted it up and everything then when it came to bolting on the driveshaft i discovered my driveshaft was about 1 inch shorter. Now the jdm subframe has lsd, i believe its from abs car, dont’ know how to tell tho, and its 5 bolt if that helps. My car is an 1990 hb 4 bolt with abs without hicas, and had open diff originally. So rite now my car sits in my garage with a hanging driveshaft which is to short to bolt up. Anyone know wat driveshaft i need or wat other options i need to explore.
hey bud i thikn im in the same boat, i just swapped a manual tranny from a super hicas into my 95 s14, started the car so i was proud to know that didt mess up the swap, was putting on my drive shaft when, even worse mine is about 5 inches shorter. I did some research and established that i actually need a manual DS from a S14. the S13 DS’s are shorter and have the carrier brack in different locations. im not quite sure about Abs , but im certain to find that out when i actually find a DS up for grabs.
so hope that gives you shove in the right direction.
Good luck…
P.s if you know any one with a dang S14 Drive shaft or where i can get one let me know !
theres actually a number for sale in the fs section right now…
and as the the original poster your probably want a NON-ABS rear s13 driveshaft it’s a bit longer should cover that 1" your short… john gto should be able to help you out he always has parts on hand… even the ones you don’t think about.
