Not looking for any smart ass remarks here, definately not in the mood! I dropped my boost gauge on the floor, looked at it to see if its broken and sure enough the needle is now stuck at 2psi…Does anyone know how to take the gauge apart to repair it? What do I do? Thanks in advance for anyone who helps me out
well what brand?
All i can think of is to set it up on a car and once it gets vacuum or pressure it will then return to normal once off…
I know this sounds odd, but I had a greddy boost gauge that I dropped on the floor and basically the same thing happend. To fix it all I did was hit it with my palm a couple times untill the needle eventually went back into position. As ghetto and stupid as it sounds…it worked and so did the boost gauge, still.
Lol
The brand is Autometer, series is Sport-comp. Already sent a message to autometer explaining what happened. I don’t expect them to do anything about it but who knows, maybe they might. Martino, I have already tried hitting multiple times with my palm lol, then figured if it got screwed up on the floor, then why not fix it that way, banged it off the table and still no dice! I’m super pissed right now, anyone know how to take it apart?
Does it have a metal lip around the plastic screen?
You can bend the lip enough to remove the face, and then pull off the needle and
reposition it at 0.
It won’t throw off the calibration because the increments will still be per psi, or 0.5 psi.
With the screen off, there might even be a small adjuster where you can rotate it to
reset it.
Had to do this with my autometer gauge a long time ago.
It’s an autometer, you’re lucky it’s only 2PSI off.
i cant remember 100% but i had a autometer sport comp boost gauge and the front is removable. I think the plastic lip screws on or maybe it pops off. Dont quote me it was 3 years ago i cant remember.
GL hope you can fix it
Thanks guys, will try to remove the plastic lip tomoro
I have a megan gauge FS $60, if you need a new one Works like a champ, mechanical.
