if it started as an NT, its gonna be FWD. putting a T25 on it is a downgrade from the 14B. if its not rotting and the wiring isnt hacked buy it, but youre gonna spend 200, and that 200 will turn into 2000 quick!
well it comes with both turbos, but the t25 is whats hooked up.
none of the wiring has been touched. stock everything, ecpt what i mentioned. even the engine bay wiring is nice. The kid b4 the current one, knew what he was doing. the current kid (25) took the stuff off for a turbo that he bought (come to find out its a blown t25) so eveerythings there. but we’ll see, how this plays out. and im not spending more than 500 including car cost and maintance. <- my winter beater rule. and it comes with a complete gasket kit (vavle/head/oil pan…etc) new clarion cd deck still in box, and an extra side mount… woppty do
its a DSM. if you dont know what youre doing, youre gonna learn the hard way. the stock sidemounts are worth a few bucks … the gasket kit unless its MHI they are usually junk. cometic arent bad, but genuine MHI gaskets are the way to go… timing belt, and inspect the balance shaft belt/bearings, id say replace or eliminate them. i dont trust peoples timing jobs on DSM’s unless i know who did the work.
thanks for the input, im doing as much as i can, and then most likly giving it to dave at inline to finish up since im really busy with work & re roofing my garage. dsmtalk sucks, dsmtuner is great, been on there on and off all day… and the gaskets i didnt see the brand. im only using the vavle cover one, idk if it needs it but the gasket is free and it wont hurt to replace when i take the cover off to repaint, and check inside. i wish it was a 92 awd… god these popups are ugly
learn to love them… my roomate had a white 92 6/4bolt laser RS. stock boost, with a 3inch no cat turbo back it was quite quick… he also had a FWD talon TSi with an FP Green on it. it was a highway monster… the Laser was gonna get the talons motor and ecu and all that, but the Laser got hit on the side, and he traded it in for an Evo… the Laser was totaled by the insurance company too, and the dealer still gave him 1500 for it :lol… we showed up in my A4 to do the paper work, they were like whats the trade?.. oh a 92 laser… any damage? “small dent on the driver side” they gave him the credit towards the evo, the next day we dropped the laser off with no exhaust on it, just a stock downpipe, and the faces of the sales staff was priceless…

Anyways… im going to be either getting a 14/16 turbo. trying to find something around 50 plus shipping. i had found a 14 for 55 shipped, but was sold… i need that, battery (gunna steal outta 240)… could use a passenger seat, since it was used to hold a blown t3 turbo for months, so oils on it.
Trust me theres nothing good to look at. The whole car is filled with lies of what they told me. im somewhat pissed. but for 200 its. w.e. First of all, the stock sidemount inlet pipe is broke and they tried to JB weld it… and thats about how far im going w/o getting mad.
