my buddy is lookin for one also. he has a 97 i think he blew his tranny and has been lookin for one for a bit. just saw him a fwe days ago and he said that he has been gettin the run around for a while because of people sayin they have them but then he calls in a few days and they say ooops we didnt have that one it was a front wheel not an all wheel drive that we had

good luck…2g awd trannies are pricey,plus chances of finding one is somewhat good shape is hard.your almost better off just buying a new one from the factory,it will cost a little bit more but u wont have the headache of putting in a used one and finding out that 2nd gear is blown out or something like that.

ok and how much is one from the factory>?? guess
you’re better off having someone rebuild it, i’d recommend shep - excelent work.
2g used (60-100k mi) go for around 600-700 bux which is outrageous, then you have to make sure it’s got the right number of splines on the outputshaft so that makes it even harder.
i paid 1200 for mine cuz it needed a lot more than the standard rebuild. a basic rebuild is 900 bux so you can see which is the better way to go.
ask darkstar he went through like 2 or 3 used trannys
yeah those are 1g trannies, they’ll do that. 2gs are a lot more expensive cuz there aren’t like 50k of them in peoples backyards
http://www.msrecycling.com/ they have a sh!t load of dms stuff. i would also try to find a local tranny guy and see if u can work a deal out with him. i got my new tranny from my 2ng gen for 1100.
1100 for a NEW tranny? damn i got mine “built” by shep (shep spec gearing/other buildups) for 100 bux more than that and that’s cuz i needed a center case and other stuff that should have been included.
get it built right i cannot say this enough. get it built by someone who does it for a living
