most say do them between 70 and 100K. how many miles is on your car? your average 97 should probably have them done by now IMO. while you are in there do the water pump too.

EDIT: should have read the whole thread. definitely talk to jaeger (VR6 genius)

pretty sure the water pump is run off the serp belt…
