I’m trying to put DVDs on an iPod for my daughter.
Am I right that they HAVE to be in MP4 format?
I was able to get a sample piece of a DVD onto the iPod using a trial version of some conversion software that I downloaded. Saved it as MP4 then had to do a 2nd conversion to be iPod compatible. Is there any free software to do this in one step or do I need to buy something?
Um, shit, i cant remember what ones are free Jeff(I work at one of the iPod call centers).
I think Videora is free, let me check, bah, i cant remember which one is free. Videora will do the conversion if you have the file on your computer http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
Check with iPodlounge.com and ipodmodding.com. Theres forums over there that cover that shit about every 10 seconds.
Of coarse theres nothing apple provides, but, I will dig around at work. Some of Apple’s forums have recomendations if you need to rip a DVD. I got a few mixed in my head but they might be for Mac. PM me if you ever have any problems with that thing.
