E36 BMW 328i Exhaust help

Hi, have a friend with a shitton of miles on his 328i.

His check engine light is on, the cats and O2s are bad. Gonna cost an assload to replace the parts with OEM spec shit, was wondering if there was some aftermarket exhaust that isn’t loud but sounds good and replaces the cats (must be street legal) that is a little cheaper.

Any exhaust ideas? Thanks in advance…

supersprint?

tell him to check the e36 forums and pick one up stupid cheap.

meh, o2 simulators can be found on ebay for cheap. but only work for after cat o2 sensors. that could be the cheapest alternative.

He said not expensive lol

Supersprints stuff runs over $900 for just a catback.

The majority of other exhaust companies for the e36 seem as bad if not worse.

I did find that Vibrant makes a cheaper catback in the $400’s price range but your friend would prob have to buy a cat and have something welded up for that section seeing how expensive all of the OEM replacement sections are.

supersprint actually is one of the “cheaper” BMW aftermarket exhaust options.

thats why I said it

i know, i was referring to the post above.

me too

like i said, if the exhaust itself is in good shape, and just the 2nd o2 is bad or the cat isnt up to snuff, then a $40.00 O2 simulator from ebay willmake that pesky light go away after a reset.
