Effed up my alignment Tein S14 inner and outer tie rods on a S13 with S13 LCA's

I threw on my JDM S14 Tein inner and outer tie rods onto an S13 with stock S13 LCA’s and stock everything else.

Went for a test drive, wheel was 90 degrees to the left just to go straight. Went back in to the alignment rack.

Hooked it all up, at MAX inner adjustment, with absolutely no more threads to turn inwards, the best TOE I could get was 2.10 degrees. That combined with 3.0 degrees of camber is bad fucking news.

Is it the tie rod issue? I need to get it back to a safe setting, right now in the wet, its SLIDING in a straight line. At 50kph, car is all over the place, deathtrap like.

I would rather not put stock ones back in as one is pretty beat up with a mangled boot as well.

I really don’t understand why though. I’ve run these on an s13 before. I did change the lca to an s14 one that time along with s14 tc rods. That worked great!!

All I know is that is fucked up and I CANNOT drive like this. Its ridiculously dangerous and I would love to figure this out. I’m headed to the track at 11am tomorrow.

If I have to put the stocl ones in, I will but that’s a huge pain in my arse.

Thanks!

S14 tie rods are longer you need to get s14 LCA… speaking from experience

cut the inner tie rods shorter.

done deal.

s14 tie rods for s14 lca. thats it.
wen i put s14 lca on s13… the s13 tie rods were running outa thread to push out lol so i switched it back. but s14 lca on s13 gives it more camber adjustment

ronnie i believe s14 inners are roughly 1.5" longer than s13 inners.

you have 2 options:

  1. grind the threads down (that attach to the outers) on the s14 inners. best would be to grab a stock s13 inner and compare length and trim to that but i believe it’s 1.5" difference.

  2. pick up a set of tein s13 inners and throw these on with your s14 outers. you will have no issues with this.

ronnie if they are tein then as long as you are running both Real TEIN inner and outer you will not have any issues…

You sure they are both tein?
Go to an alignment shop if they are, dont drive like that !
Tein inner and outers from s14, when used on s13, do not need any LCA changes as long as they are both from s14, and not just the outer.
