needed something large to fill up a wall at home. The wife added these bright blue pillows in the room, so i made some wall art to match and tie everything together.
Drew up an idea in CAD and had it laser cut out of 1/8" Aluminum
-Put an abrasive finish into the Aluminum
-Matched the Pillows with some automotive Paint.
-Sprayed light coats of color, leaving the blue translucent
-Clear Coated
-Hung
Fills up the wall nice, adds some color to the room. Clock isn’t finished, I have to work on it a bit, but the hour hand is in place.
That’s all. I haven’t put any DIY threads up in quite some time, so i needed to do something. More DIY furnishings in the near future.
:tup: nice work. I love doing things like this for my house. I think I’m going to start getting some ideas together to keep myself occupied, and away from spending money on car stuff.
^ The flash is what brought all that out…it’s subtle, but i like metal. Besides, it keeps the wife at bay since she has been bugging me to get something on the wall and she likes “circles”.
I’ll take another picture with no flash in the near future…when its light out.
