My new shift knob (printed on our 3d printer)

I was excited so i wanted to post pics, but my blackberry camera SUCKKKKKS

Anyway, I always put hello kitty shit on my cars. My bimmer has a Hello kitty horn button and a pink engine, so what better than a hello kitty w/ a german war helmet on…

I need to reprint it bigger (running now) but the detail is pretty good even too small. I’m gonna paint it and clear coat the shit out of it…

Whats with the christmas lights?

idk. there is tons of random shit on my desk at work. i didn’t put them there.

I just felt like being an ass. Nice job on the shift knob.

Lol, thats actually pretty cool

is that the same shit jay made his huge fucking shift knob pole out of? (if you know what i’m talkin about)

thats sick!!! i want one

want it powdercoated? hell of a lot more durable, if you want it pink, i’ll have to get powder, but we’ve got a ton of stuff already. told you, i owe you a favor. that is if the final product is going to be metal…

That’s a sweet looking shift knob.

No, the final product will just be plastic. I’d need to investment cast it, which means convincing my boss to buy 800 dollars worth of lost wax polyjet material, then getting it cast somewhere, lol.

what a great idea that was…

Turned out sweet.

Dan

Ehh, not a fan but whatever floats your tuna boat

seems a little too small…

thats kind of cool. different.

Great now my wife wants one…

weird, my engine building room has a hello kitty doormat in it.
btw, nice knob.

Nice,looks glow in the dark.

I really need to buy a 3d printer.

how long did that take you to draw up in inventor?

let me put in a phone call, i can get that cast for you. my cousin is a design guy over at a firm that does casting outside Arcade. Spam16v@gmail.com send me the file, and i’ll see what i can’t get done. aluminum fine?

how strong is that plastic? We have a 3D printer in class and I was going to draw a shift knob up in Inventor as well but I didn’t know if it would hold up.
