Hey Guys,
So I’m in talks with a CNC shop and we started kicking around the idea of a Nissan badged shift knobs.
These will be have a Nissan Specific thread to fit all Nissans.
and will look something like this :
BUT with the classic Nissan logo machined on the top portion.
^^ so you get an idea.
To borrow a line from Bing, These will be manufactured in CANADA out of 303 stainless steel.
Weighs about 400g (just shy of a lb)
Threaded to suit your Nissan shifter, no 3 little set screws garbage, and no having the shift knob come off mid shift.
You will LOVE this shift knob and how smooth it makes your shifting feel.
The price for these will be $60 plus tax
I would have to see some serious interest to see if it would be viable.
We would need to see about 10 of these to make this happen
Sign up if interested
Thanks

…
What thread size are you guys using?
Make it polished 303 stainless steel with “INSANE” logo and you will have much more customers. Let us know if you can.

You should give me box tickets to a leafs game today…
Oh, I guess Carstar did give me tickets THANKS
The Idea behind this is that I havn’t seen a nice heavy NISSAN shift knobs.
Thread?? I believe its M10 X 1.25, I’ll leave the details to him.
I ran the polished idea to the machinist and says it will cost a lot more time and money to get the final result.
The idea was to have a SIMPLE (not insane) logo that will work with our cars.

I am open to doing the INSANE design as it’s almost identical but I would need the same amount of people to run it.
I can do 10 NISSAN to start, and/or 10 INSANE if you guys really want.
Post your name if intersted, and which one you would be intersted in.

I’d be in with the insane (Y)
i would be down… only problem is that in the summer time steel gets RED HOT!!! and winter… its bloody FREEZING!!! the insane design is +1 though!
I run a DSM shift knob on mine, its pretty heavy its sold by AMS performance called a ‘hammer knob’. It’s heavy and leather wrapped.
Does look cool though, but I agree it would probably get hot no?

^^ That’s basically a standard 2g GSX knob.
Yes it is A Metal Shift Knob
Yes It will get HOT
Yes it will get cold
Like a lot of aftermarket parts, we sometimes give up a little comfort for looks, performance or for both.
This is no different.
I’ve run a metal knob for a couple years.
Gloves in the winter.
Quick shifts in the summer.
these look nice

Ran a metal one this winter… Couldn’t handle it so I got a leather-wrapped Nismo knob.
To the OP: Considering the majority of us are driving S13’s, why not the older Nissan logo vs the newer one? Even the S14’s used the older Nissan logos.
Would be sweet if you could get the old-style Nismo logo going around the side of the knob, or going down one side (if you did a shaft-style knob).
This logo:
I vote for bing? Maybe bings logo?
bings could sell em then lol.
NISMO logo looks BADASS, however u may get sued or something lol… or not. But it looks really cool.
I forget WHERE I read this but several days ago I read about someone doing a similar thing but stateside, and how they were gona coat it or something with some sort of material or make it out of a certain metal like material which is still heavy but wont react to hot/cold changes… im gona try to recall where I read it I think zilvia… and maybe we can do something like that. I love my DSM shift knob its pretty heavy and nice feel (compared to the shitty stock one for sure) combined with short shifter its awesome but, whatever.
Can I get one with NO engravings?

LOL.
I don’t think they’ll waste it trying to sue for a small project like this…
All these extra coatings cost money and add to the final sticker price.
As for the Logo, I’m open to a logo that works.
Bing and I have already had a conversation about this.
I’m sure he’s flattered though
