Engine Swap w/out an engine lift.

is that possible to do with a 240?

Sure, but you need either a really strong back or a very big tree with strong branches and a chainfall. If you have an old swing set they sometimes work too, but it has to be pretty darned strong too, I wouldn’t recommend it.

As Theo23 stated… A chainfall would work… I’ve used them before… not on a 240 thou but rwd trucks. But you do need something quite strong to attach too

go rent a lift.

and do it right

GT

PM me if you need a hoist. We rent them out.

Umm… me and 2 other friends lifted my motor off the back of a truck because we didnt have a engine hoist at the time and it had to be done that night… Trust me its not Something i recomend! engine hoist is the best way to go… if not theres a good chance u will bend or break something eather your back or ur car.

if you have alot of time you can drop the engine out the bottom of the car. But you have to romove half of the suspension and the crossmember with the engine ut it can be done. Some rest the engine and crossmember on a skateboard, then lift the car with really tall jacks and roll the engine out from under it. I would say if you can rent a hois do it cause it will save time.

just go to CT, buy one, use it, then return it.

use a hoist and save yourself the trouble. Canadiandrifters way will work, but its alot of work. Rent Andrews hoist he’ll give you a good deal

Andrew.

I agree you should use a hoist it is much esier but I was just answering his question. I will rent you my hoist if you want but andrew is prob closer to you.

It’s a small price to pay to ensure you don’t crush yourself.

ty, I’ll pm you guys when I need a hoist

Jacked the car up nice and high.

Removed motor, Installed new motor, and Jacked in new Subframe.
