I know this was discussed last year in a thread however prices/technology seem to change a lot…
Any suggestions?
I was looking at T1i, T2i and the D3100.

I know where you can get a D3000 for $349 at a local retail store.
Details?
If its snky snky PM lol
If you ask me, the D3100 is a MUCH more user friendly camera compared to the T1i/T2i… And the technical image quality is a bit superior.
D3100. The D3000 isn’t that exciting, which is why its much cheaper.
Sears,Galleria Mall. Appears to be new in the box,not 100% though, might be a display model. Its marked down from $499 to $349. Its the full kit,not just the body.
Find a used d40. You’ll be more than happy with it for the cheap prices they’re out there for
I loved my D40 when I had it. I sold it to Sedlmeier a few years back, I’m sure he still loves it.
While the D40 is sufficient if youre not going to be too serious about it, its really quickly becoming a dated camera. If thats your price range then sure, itll serve you well, but if you have 600 bones to drop get ANY of the newer models. The 1080p video and low light shooting on these newer ones make it more than worth it.
My friend just got a T1i and its a pretty snazzy entry level if you ask me. Im a Nikon guy and the 3100 also shoots VERY well for an entry level. Even the new Sonys are really good. Point is you really cant go wrong with any brand no matter what brand humper tells you.
That said I have a D60 if you are in that lower price range lol.
Eh im just going to grab the D3000 from Sears…
If/When I out grow it I will give it to the wife and grab something else.
Everyone I know had D60s in the past and did just fine and the D3000 was the replacement for those.
