Ethics Poll: So I found a dollar today...

So today I found a dollar on the floor at work, I looked around and couldnt see anyone so I pocketed it.

Whats the cut-off for you to keep the money or find the person or turn it in to security/hr/who ever?

Finders keeps…losers weepers

it depends on the likelihood of finding the rightful owner, not how much is found.

If it is at work, I would ask around. In public, MINE!

when I was in vegas we found like 180 on the casino floor, my step mom said don’t toutch it and she got a pit boss and security came and got it with the quickness. I think it is different in casinos though.

i never find money…
but for the past 2-3 months ive been finding 10s and singles all over…fuck ethics

+1. Especially since there’s just 30ish people at my work.

I found a total of $30 at work. A $10 bill laying on the grass outside and a $20 bill in the cafeteria…Then me and the GF went to might and found $40 in the vestibule. I’d like to thank whoever gave us that free meal.

i found 100 dollar bill at JC Penny’s, but saw 2 kids frantically looking around on the ground for it, so i gave it back. found another 100 dollar bill on the ground in the customer service line at Tops, but nobody was around, so i just pocketed it. Have a friend who found 50 bucks and thought his mom would yell at him or something, so he gave it to me… my luck usually sucks for the most part though

+1

If its in a parking lot at the mall… that dude is gone and never to be found.

If its in the classroom underneath someones seat… it doesn’t matter if its a quarter.

what if its 50 grand in an envelope , tell police? :meh:

I found a 50 in my work parking lot, walked in asked the boss if he lost any money. He said no so it was all mine. I guess i had enough ethic to ask him before just pocketing it.

found a $100 in a car that i bought for 200

and i love it when i go into my winter coat for the first time that year and find cash

me and a few friends; breetime, were at la novas and apparently someone dropped a 10$bill next to our car, and the lady was parked like 20feet away and walked back in and asked us if we had dropped any money, that was probably one of the more honest things i have seen.

im sure it was hers tho since she was driving a 2009 7series bmw , and it was crisp as fuck.

this old guy in front of me dropped a wad of 100s and 50s and his credit card, license and a bunch of other cards in front of me at the counter and just walked right out. but he had been really nice to the cashier at a gas station and let her keep like 2$ change :gotme: . so i figured i would be nice as well :banghead: oh well i would hope someone would do the same for me, so +karma to myslef

If I see someone drop it… I’ll give it back. But anything else really is well mine

Yeah its only a 2-5 man crew at work so someone at some point would be know there are missing something.

Cash is king and hard to trace if spent correctly. That stays under your mattress and goes into a slush fund for gadgets and car parts, untraceable stuff, have to make sure you were not on camera picking it up.

50 grand randomly somewhere in a an envelop was probably up to go no good anyway.

O true that i saw a guy drop his money clip had a good $500 in it i grabbed it stopped him and handed it back. I kinda wish i would have kept that LOL o well he was happy as shit.

My decision is based on the equilibrium between supply (face value of the dollar) and demand (the effort required to find the rightful owner). To the left of the equilibrium point, the rightful owner gets the cash. To the right I keep it.
