Redneck, Hillbilly, and Hick are derogatory terms used to degrade white people who live in rural areas. Calling a white person who lives in the country a redneck or hillbilly is absolutely no different than calling a black person the “N” word. Those who use these terms in public, in the workplace, and in education should be treated the same as those who use other racial slurs.
