Because everyone always dreams of getting a paintjob and a turbo/SR on their 240.
Why would they care about how the underbody is if no one looks at it? Kids only wanna impress others…so they do stuff that people can see.
Hence you see so many SR’s in rotted out chassis’ and cheap ka-t setups that end up blowing their motors.
Also, they think that by getting a paintjob, all the rust magically goes away somehow and their car will look brand new.
