Exhaust question for other V8 Brodudes

I need to re-do my exhaust this year because whats on there now took a bit of a beating from my car being so low this year.

Currently its a 2.5" y pipe with a catalytic converterand one muffler.

Would it be beneficial in anyway to go up to 3" since it is a single exit exhaust on a 4.0L v8 or do you think the 2.5" is the way to stay.

The stock system is 2.25" y pipe to duals

if 2.5" is getting beat up I dont think doing a 3" would be the best idea, and I doubt youd see any noticeable power gains.

I thought you were selling it anyways?

its just getting beat up in one spot where it hangs down but there is room for someone more competent to make a better fitting pipe

Its for sale but so far all I have gotten are trade offers for cars im not really interested in trading it for lol. Built WRX, 350z, GS300, 67 corvette. if someone offered up an audi A4 or S4 i’d be all over that

Bigger wheels,
Slightly taller tires
Fix exhaust in one spot where its getting beaten up
Profit

I might go to an 18x10 with 225/45 front 255/40 rear over winter.

See how making that kinda money goes

why don’t you own one of these already?

I hate 350zs with a passion and the GS300 I was offered just didnt float my boat, mo sunroof FUCK THAT SHIT

fixing a problem when b/c a car is too low, the answer is never raise up the car…yea i’m being serious…and unless he already has (which it doesn’t sound like it), u can always have a custom exhaust fabbed up for more clearance, but i loved scrapping the mr2 exhaust everywhere, inch of ground clearance ftw. pipe didn’t stay oval long.

+1 Never will own a car without one again.

Im curious tho, why no to the 67 Vette?

2.5" exhaust flows up to around 500rwhp

so, no need to jump to a 3". Its a small displacement motor anyways.

Thanx drew thats what I needed to know

toyota have a huge tendancy to lose power outside of stock tolerances , like drew said no real advantage to doin it besides that any real power gains are in the cat forward section of those
