Facebook Freebooting

I knew what it was, but I didn’t know someone gave it a name:

good video

Good video thx for sharing

But I thought “you” were protected by this when you upload the video to youtube and click one of the copywrite buttons that prevents people from grabbing the link and sharing it

any idiot can use a plugin to grab it anyway.

thats true

Man there is a way to make a buck doing anything online these days.

The video uploader on Facebook doesn’t make money off of it, only Facebook right?

Correct, but it takes away from Ad revenue on YouTube.

The only thing I took from that video is that I want to read Ender’s Game now :study: I guess his video worked?

When we had our dominoes video that was big in 2009, we had to constantly send notices to other sites and accounts because people were taking it and re-uploading it on their sites. Everyone we contacted did take it down, but they still racked up the hits before we noticed.

One of my videos got noticed by a company that specializes in this. They track down illegal uses of the video and make sure that it’s getting distributed through the proper channels.
