yea i had a kid at tim hortons once tell me he and his father built this Mazda MX-6 here in town with supra tails ,body kit , lowered and all, he treind to tell me him and his dad had lowere it in thier driveway and that they sold it cuz the kid wasnt old enough to drive i let him go on and on about this, so then i called brian the owner of the MX-6 to some down to tim hortons seeing as i was the one who had actually lowered the car the week before and he was a freind of mine, the kid treid to play it off like he was tlking about some other mx-6 with the same mods whne my buddy brian showed up

I tend to think that it’s not necessarily fame. We don’t see people saying “I am so funny I made a movie called Ace Ventura”, this situation is rather different. This fame is measured on a local micro scale and deals with people’s social insecurity. He obviously lied in order to gain peer acceptance/social status. What’s funnier is that this kid probably built farmer’s car in NFS Underground and called it his own unable to separate reality.

IMO, I think kids (young/mid teens) can’t easily separate reality from video games and cartoons. Don’t you see kids talking about getting an AE86? You know what they’re thinking, “I can drive this just like in Initial-D, because it’s an AE86” but they don’t realize that it’s all driver skill. It’s one thing to grow up watching GI Joe and pretending to shoot guns at your friends/cousins; but it’s another to pretend to street race or drift since the latter is obviously more accessible. I mean common, no one really dies street racing…

Well I guess you can take this “Rip Off” in two ways,

  1. As a compliment that this guy liked your car so much and used, a pic of it, said it’s his, then said it was’nt but he wanted his to look like yours or,

  2. You’d like to hit him with a honda to teach him a leason and smarten him up. That way he’ll think twice next time before passing off someone else’s hard work.
